Benefits
In addition to any government lump sum payments, if you have been diagnosed with mesothelioma, you may be eligible to receive:
Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB)
If your exposure to asbestos occurred through employed work, you may be able to claim IIDB. We can provide you with the relevant form and should you need help with the application, we can arrange for you to receive assistance.
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Attendance Allowance
PIP and Attendance Allowance are essentially the same benefit. PIP can be claimed if you are under 65 years and require assistance with your personal care. If you are aged over 65 and need help with personal care, the benefit is called Attendance Allowance.
Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
This is available if you are in employment.
Constant Attendance Allowance (CAA)
If you receive Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB) and you need daily care and attention because of a disability, you may be able to claim CAA. How much you get depends on the extent of your disability and the amount of care you need.
Blue Badge
You may also be entitled to a Blue Badge for your car. If you need help with the application, we can arrange for you to receive assistance.
Carer’s Allowance
If someone helps to look after you then once PIP or Attendance Allowance is received, your carer may also be entitled to Carer’s Allowance.
If you have been diagnosed with asbestosis or pleural thickening, in addition to a lump sum payment from the government, you may be eligible to receive:
Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit (IIDB)

If you have been diagnosed with asbestos-related lung cancer, in addition to a lump sum payment from the government, you may be eligible to receive:
