As we all move into different times due to the current outbreak of Covid-19, SWASAG launched their first virtual zoom support meeting on Thursday 30th April 2020. Around 20 patients,families and supporters of SWASAG joined the Zoom meeting. Christine Jones MESO UK nurse for the South West gave a clinical update regarding recent Mesothelioma trials which was very informative.
The morning was full of much needed laughs and catch up between both Plymouth and Truro groups. SWASAG were overjoyed to have Mavis Nye Mesothelioma warrior for over 10 years and founder of the Mavis Nye Foundation join them, a truly dedicated lady who helps so many patients and families through her Facebook groups, Zoom meetings enabling her to get involved is a huge positive from the virtual meetings .
The whole virtual meeting was a huge success, these will now become a weekly event on Thursday mornings at 11.00am through out the Corona Virus outbreak.
