One of SWASAG’s aims at the very beginning was to be able to help patients from the very onset, at the point of diagnosis when everything is so frightening.
This year has proved to be a very testing and difficult time for so many, especially those with Mesothelioma. SWASAG have been busy during the lockdown period, compiling a new patient pack which will be delivered to patients at point of diagnosis, the packs includes invaluable information about the disease itself and what SWASAG can do to help support patients and their families through the difficult times.
The packs were presented to Paul Kneller and Emma Cresswell CNS at The Royal Cornwall Hospital this week aswell as a donation of some much needed thermometers for the Sunrise Centre, it has been recognised that some patients for different reasons are unable to obtain this vital piece of equipment before undergoing treatment for chemotherapy.
