Action Mesothelioma Day (AMD) is an annual event to raise awareness and pay tribute to everyone who’s lives have been affected by Mesothelioma. SWASAG held the event on Friday 1st July 2022 at China Fleet Resort in Saltash.
The day was filled with a selection of informative presentations to many friends, supporters and families including people from both Plymouth and Truro groups whom have been diagnosed with Mesothelioma and their families.
Starting the presentations was Mesothelioma UK Nurse Christine Jones, who gave an update on SWASAG and how the group is moving forward. Christine was followed by Respiratory Consultant Dr John Corcoran who delivered a very interesting presentation along with a Q&A session.
After a short coffee break there was a fun general knowledge quiz followed by a delicious three course lunch.
American lawyer Brendan Tully started the afternoon session with a most interesting presentation about asbestos in talc and talc claims, this presentation was live streamed from New York and raised lots of questions amongst everyone in the room.
The afternoon was finished with an emotional butterfly release in memory of lost loved ones due to Mesothelioma, the butterflies decided to hang around for sometime landing on lots of people before flying away.
