Helen & Julie along with Christine Jones Mesothelioma UK Nurse travelled to Manchester for the 3rd Annual ladies lunch at The Macdonald Manchester Hotel on Tuesday 7th March 2022 to coincide with International Women’s Day.
The fundraising event was well attended by many inspirational women with a chance to come together from across the country along with support groups. Once again the lunch was hosted by Lorraine Creech of Meso UK who introduced a panel of speakers to answer some questions, Caroline Twist a young peritoneal patient, Mavis Nye BEM, pleural mesothelioma patient and a continued presence in fighting for all sufferers, Collette Willoughby from BOHS expert in asbestos and retired GP Barbara Murray who has been involved in many BBC TV programmes and radio, a very interesting panel with lots of knowledge which was shared with the room.
A raffle was held after the lunch with some amazing prizes on offer.
To finish the afternoon a balloon pop was organised where the whole room purchased balloons and all popped together to reveal a beautiful prize of a Swarovski necklace in one balloon.
