On 11th May 2023 SWASAG celebrated 5 years of charitable status with a summer ball which was held on Saturday 13th May 2023
The event was celebrated at The Alverton Manor, and was attended by an invited guest list including many patients, families, supporters and all those who have lost loved ones due to Mesothelioma. The day was intended to show thanks to everyone who have supported SWASAG in the last 5 years including medical professionals, our lawyer panel and most importantly those whom SWASAG support on a daily basis, including families, friends and bereaved who still very much support SWASAG.
The day began at 2pm with a drinks reception in the Grand Hall at the Alverton Hotel a beautiful setting for such a memorable day. This was followed by a delicious 3 course lunch which was outstanding. Following lunch there was a very successful balloon pop, raising funds enabling SWASAG to continue to support as people in the South West affected with an asbestos related condition. This was a magnificent sight to see, so many generous people with all the balloons surrounding the hall.
There was brief break in the late afternoon for guests to relax in the beautiful gardens or in the lounge areas whilst the room was prepared for the evening event.
At 7pm everyone returned to the great hall for the amazing raffle, so many wonderful prizes to be had including hampers, hotel stays, chocolates and many more. A wonderful buffet was served at around 8pm before The QWEST a live band starting at 9pm bringing the most enjoyable evening of fun, dancing and laughter. A truly magnificent day and evening was had by all.
SWASAG would like to thank The Alverton Hotel for such a well organised event also to all our Solicitor Panel, Hugh James, Thompson Solicitors, Novum Law and RWK Goodman for sponsoring the event.
We look forward to continue supporting all those affected by an Asbestos Related illness in the future alongside continuing to fund a Mesothelioma UK Nurse for the South West Peninsula.
