SWASAG held their annual event in support of Action Mesothelioma Day (AMD) on Friday 6th July 2023 at Home Park, Plymouth, an event to raise awareness and pay tribute to everyone who’s lives have been affected by Mesothelioma.
The day was filled with a selection of informative presentations to many friends, supporters and families including people from both our Plymouth and Truro groups whom have been diagnosed with Mesothelioma and their families.
The presentations started with Mesothelioma UK Nurse Christine Jones, who gave an update on SWASAG and how the group is moving forward. Christine was then followed by Respiratory Consultant Dr John Corcoran who delivered a very interesting presentation along with a Q&A session. Finishing the morning session of talks was a video presentation of The staging of Mesothelioma.
A delicious 3 course lunch was then served to all the guests, followed by an amazing raffle with so many lovely prizes up for grabs
After lunch and the raffle the afternoon was finished with an emotional butterfly release over the Plymouth Argyle Football Pitch in the beautiful sunshine in memory of lost loved ones due to Mesothelioma.
