Action Mesothelioma Day (AMD) is an annual event to raise awareness and pay tribute to everyone whose lives have been affected by the asbestos-related disease, mesothelioma. On Friday 5th July 2019 the SWASAG team were at St Elizabeth House Hotel in Plymouth to mark this occasion. A 3 course lunch at St Elizabeth’s was hosted by SWASAG for our friends and supporters including people from both our Plymouth and Truro groups whom have been diagnosed with mesothelioma and their loved ones.
The day in itself was glorious, the sun shone in an amazing setting where everyone enjoyed meeting up to share experiences, meet old friends and make new ones.
The afternoon was completed with a beautiful butterfly release by Dr Amy Roy and Dr John Corcoran of Derriford hospital in memory of lost loved ones due to mesothelioma.
