An amazing day was had at Armed Forces Days 2019 at Plymouth Hoe on Saturday 29th June. It was a beautiful sunny day with lots of people coming along showing support for all our dedicated service men and women. We had lots of people come and chat with us about Mesothelioma and other asbestos related illnesses, we were also joined by Christine Jones our fantastic Mesothelioma UK nurse.
We once again held our guess the name of our build a bears which enthralled the children, the winning names were Logan & Phoebe, the children that won were delighted with their new build a bears.
A busy day was had by the trustees meeting so many people who took an interest in SWASAG and what we are about. Huge thanks to Andrew Walker specialist asbestos solicitor of Novum Law who joined us for the day helping us to raise the much needed awareness regarding mesothelioma and asbestos related illnesses.
Later in the day the Red Arrows gave a spectacular display over Plymouth Sound ending a very successful day. We were honoured to once again have a SWASAG stand in the Veterans’ village alongside many more deserving charities.
